Steel Worker’s Memorial

PELET was honored to make the monument stands for the “Steel Workers Memorial” located in Coatesville, PA. In memorial of the 9/11 Attacks, these stands hold a 35-ton steel “tree” section from the fallen World Trade Center. This piece framed the outside wall of the 110-story North Twin Tower’s first nine floors and lobbies. Lukens Steel-Coatesville manufactured the steel for this massive support sometime around 1969. The Steel Worker’s Memorial not only honors those who passed on 9/11/01 but recognizes the long history of the Coatesville community dedicating their lives to the production of steel.

While PELET gladly donated our time and materials to this worthy cause, we were not alone. Triad Metals LLC supplied deeply discounted tubing, V&S Delaware Galvanizing donated their time and material to hot-dip galvanize the stands, and Hake Rigging joined in to place the 35-ton fork securely on the stands.
